Welcome to our Guardline Wireless Driveway Alarm Review. The Guardline Wireless Driveway Alarm is marketed as a driveway alarm. But it is much more than that. The system consists of one or more motion detectors connected to receiver. The receiver sounds a chime or an alarm when anyone, or anything, is approaching your property. That sounds simple, but is it worth spending your money on? Continue reading this Guardline Wireless Driveway Alarm review to find out more.
Guardline Wireless Driveway Alarm – Overview
The Guardline Wireless Driveway Alarm is an easy to install system that will alert you to anyone approaching your home. The basic system consists of one motion sensor and one receiver. Kits are available with more than one sensor. The motion sensor is installed at the entrance to the driveway. If a vehicle or a person passes through the sensor’s path, the receiver will sound an alarm. The sensors are battery powered, so there is no wiring needed. The receiver is powered by an AC Adapter, and / or batteries.
Sensor Range 500 Feet
The range of each sensor to the receiver is 500 feet. They will detect motion up to 40 feet away. There is another Guardline driveway alarm model that has a range of ¼ mile for long driveways. The sensors, which are weather resistant, are usually fitted to a tree or a post at the entrance to a drive. If the sensors are a few feet off the ground, they will detect people and vehicles, but animals running across the ground won’t cause false alarms.
Up to 4 Zones
You can have up to four zones set on the receiver. You can have up to four sensors for each zone. So, you could cover the driveway, walkways and rear entrances to the home. You can set a different alarm tone for each of the zones so that you can identify in which area the alarm has been triggered.
Unlike cheaper driveway alarms, the Guardline Wireless Driveway Alarm has lots of customizing options. You can set the alarm so that it only sounds at night, for example. And, you can change the sensitivity and the range of the sensors. You can also select the alarm tones from “30 fun and unique” chimes. Guardline Wireless Driveway Alarm – The Verdict
The Guardline Wireless Driveway Alarm is a simple security device that works. It has more customization options than its competitors. This model is a bit more expensive than other driveway alarms. But it does appear to be well made and it has a lot of functionality.
If you own a large property, the 4 zones would be very useful. You could have sensors set up on all the approaches to the property and any outdoor areas that you need to protect. This device will, of course, also make a very effective, simple driveway alarm.
On the downside, this is not smart alarm. So, it does not send alerts to your phone. If motion is detected, it triggers a loud alarm in the receiver unit. Some people have also mentioned in reviews that the device is not as weatherproof as it could be. Overall, though, the Guardline Wireless Driveway Alarm gets very good customer reviews.
The Guardline Wireless Driveway Alarm is a simple, reliable driveway alarm. It will alert you to people approaching your property, and it will scare intruders away. It can also be used as a proximity alarm for any part of the property. The Guardline Wireless Driveway Alarm is not a substitute for a home security system. But it would make a great additional device to add extra security. It’s also great for the simple convenience of knowing when someone is about to call at your door.
