The technology advancement in our millennial age is continuously becoming a norm where every sector is embracing this new global trend. Basically, things have become easier than a century ago in all aspects of human life. The recent trend that is great for most homeowners is the introduction of robots that can protect their houses from burglary even when they are not near.
Of course, some security firms can be very expensive in the long term, and some are not to be trusted because the guards themselves could form a gang to steal from your house. Some of the home insurance firms can be your partner in protecting your home, although their premiums could be higher.
This is where home protection using robots is necessary.
How Robots Protect Your Home?
Home protection from intruders remains the aim of every homeowner. In our digital age, robots have become the watchmen and security guards of most homes. Robots are typically machines that have been designed to perform specific tasks and programs. Their tasks and programming vary depending on the environments of their operation.
Through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), robots are continually becoming powerful and capable of carrying out even complicated tasks like protecting your home. In most manufacturing industries where the assembling of goods is needed, robots have become their close partners.
Robots are not just used to protect your home, but also in crime-fighting, performing specific services in the restaurants, distributing medications to various patients, teaching, and performing various chores in our homes, among others.
Studies have shown that many households in most developed countries will be using robots in performing various duties in their houses by 2030. The main issue with robots has always been understanding the complicated human language. However, this is being improved daily. There are current robots like iRobot’s Roomba and Dyson’s Eye, which are used in vacuum cleaning. There are even Litter Bots that keep your litter bin clean.
When it comes to home security, there are robots to protect homes. Some of them include Riley and Buddy, among others. They have cameras that can turn in any direction, depending on where you want to see. Most modern ones are connected to your smartphones using an app. That means no matter where you will be either on vacation or far from home, and you can monitor your home.
Some of these robots will shout “police” to the intruder while others cause a siren to be activated when the stranger is some meters away from the house. These robots will automatically cause security lights to go on whenever they sense an intruder. Some companies have even released security drones to monitor your house from above.
We are on the verge of the emergence of robots in our homes and people like MIT Professor Cynthia Breazeal are making it happen. Professor Cynthia was the person behind the development of Jibo, which is a robot that looks like a cartoon. Jibo has similar features to Disney animator. It has a young boy’s voice, multiple sensors, and cameras as developed by Cynthia.
These robots ensure that your home remains safe from thieves. They also allow you to stay connected with pets and kids when you are not around. If you have tried any of these robots, please let us know in the comments.
